Growing a family chiropractic office is a fantastically challenging and rewarding job, but one of the coolest things we’ve been able to do this year is help families all over the Shenandoah Valley gain more knowledge and a broader tool set to achieve their parenting goals!
We are asked all the time, “What IS Valley Babywearing Library?” It is simple: it is a collection of about 25 ergonomically correct baby carriers that we house in our office where parents can try before they purchase. No, we don’t sell them, but we will be happy to tell you where you can find them locally! Dr. Andrew and I hold classes, meet-ups, giveaways, and one-on-one babywearing consults–all for free–and all to further the bond of parents with their children in our community. It is our way of educating and giving back. And no, you don’t have to be one of Dr. Andrew’s patients to take advantage of these services, you just have to simply contact us! (*Disclaimer: Valley Babywearing Library is currently on hiatus through the end of 2013 while the Dodge family prepares for the arrival of their second baby, but we’ll be up in full-swing again in 2014!)
So what have we done in our first year? Let’s take a look!
- We’ve done 27 Babywearing Consults in our office!
- We’ve held 5 Babywearing Basics classes from Waynesboro to Harrisonburg!
- We’ve hosted 4 Babywearing Meet-ups!
- We’ve given away 4 baby carriers!
- We’ve attended 2 Baby Expos!
- We’ve won 1 Trophy for our float in the Staunton Christmas Parade!
We already have classes and consults booked for 2014–can’t wait to see what the next year has in store!
